Sustainability communication is proposed as an analytical concept for environmental communication research. In order to develop an analytical framework based on the concept of sustainability, different levels of observation and communication are distinguished. This framework allows to structure the research field and to develop a category system that can be used for the systematic analysis of research on environmental communication.
