Nach der Vorlesung kennen die Studierenden die grundlegenden Begriffe und Methoden der Kombinatorik. Nach den Übungen können sie einerseits die die o. g. Begriffe und Methoden anhand typischer Beispiele anwenden, andererseits können die Studierenden die aus der Vorlesung bekannten Beweistechniken in verwandten Fällen anwenden.
