Research Skills; Research seminar already completed; depending on the chosen topic

The students are able to work on current research topics under supervision. They should be able to analyze open problems, to describe the current state of the art and to develop as well as implement approaches for novel solutions.

Research work will be supervised at a teacher of a department of the faculty or department of other faculties involved in the degree program. The students learn to work with scientific literature and to present results in accordance with scientific standards. The students apply their knowledge from the research on a complex practical problem under supervision of a member of the research group. The documentation of their work contains a written report and a presentation of their results. The presentation is followed by a scientific discussion with the professional audience.

A report document and a presentation talk (presentation: 20 minutes, discussion: 10 minutes) about the research work and the results are required. Depending on the topic there may be additional requirements (for example software implementation, experimental results, demonstration, etc.)
