| learning outcome | After participating in the lecture, students can use the most important methods for the analysis and the design of communication systems. In particular, the participants can handle the statistical signal description (by means of correlation theory) with confidence and know how to use the bandpass-lowpass transformation, a necessary tool for subsequent lectures. As a result of the course, the participants will not only be able to name the most important modulation schemes, but rather evaluate their performance and design optimal receivers. At the end of the lecture, the participants will also be able to mathematically describe advanced transmission schemes like OFDM and can argue why and when such schemes are used. By means of the seminars, students consolidate the newly imparted knowledge and can then confidently use the system theory methods. After the course, students can correctly assess and evaluate their own achievements and those of their fellow students. |
