Details zum Abschluss	The module Sustainable Energy Finance (examination number 250024) concludes following exam components: 1) Written examination of 60 minutes with a weighting of 70% (examination number: 2500668) and 2) alternative, semester-accompanying examination with a weighting of 30% (examination number: 2500669). Details of sub-part 1: It is possible to receive bonus points for the exam. Details will be announced in Moodle. Details on the completion of sub-part 2: Alternative partial performance consists of development and presentation of case studies through group work and transfer of acquired knowledge as part of a homework assignment.

Vorkenntnisse	Basic knowledge of investment and financing, in particular accounting, profit and loss accounts and cash flow analysis.
Lernergebnisse und erworbene Kompetenzen	Students know about the challenges of climate change and the implications for the energy sector. They are familiar with current trends and developments in the field of renewable energies. They understand the special characteristics of project financing and know the essential elements for financing renewable energy projects. The students are able to apply different financing models for wind farms and/or photovoltaic plants in a practical way and to independently develop a financing concept.
Inhalt	Political, Economical and Financial Framework of Sustainable Energy Finance Introduction to Project Finance Financing of Renewable Energy Projects (Wind, Solar) Introduction to Cash Flow Modelling Application of Financial Models Analysis and Structuring of a Renewable Energy Project (Case Study) In the self-study phase (introductions by moodle), they develop a financing concept as part of the exam-relevant case study.
