previous knowledge and experience

Prior knowledge is needed in:

  • Basics in engineering sciences like digital signal processing and fundamentals in system theory,
  • Basics in acoustics and electroacoustics,
  • autonomous inquiry in relevant literature and references (books, papers, etc.),
  • scientific research methods
learning outcome

After attending the lectures, students can describe digital audio systems and technologies. They can explain changes in digital audio systems and technologies. After attending the course, the students are able to develop the design process of current audio systems. After attending the lecture, the student can summarize the knowledge about auditory perception and acoustical physical effects for the technical realization of processes, components, and systems.

After the seminar the students have deepened their knowledge out of the lectures by means of selected examples. After the event, students can correctly assess and evaluate their own achievements and those of their fellow students.
