| learning outcome | After attending the course, students have acquired specialist and methodological expertise in the planning, production, post-production and distribution of a contemporary product for the media market. By working on a specific media project in a team, they are able to apply their specialist knowledge, deepened their methodological skills and have acquired social skills during teamwork. |
| content | Management of Contemporary Media Productions and Journalism is a lecture course in which you will learn by case studies and exercises how media products are realized from script development, planning and production to post-production and distribution. The focus of this module is on professional project management and practical application, including methods and equipment. Students will gain insight into various media productions such as film, series, show and podcast. In team exercises, you are going to plan your own small business project, which you'll pitch together. Your lecturer and mentor is Henryk Balkow, journalist and producer with Feuerköpfe (R) and head of a regional media network. You'll also visit the media lab and broadcasting facilities of TU Ilmenau and student associations for a better understanding of the processes and people in media business. |
