Die Hauptseminararbeit ist eine eigenständige wissenschaftliche Arbeit. Sie besteht aus einer Hausarbeit (Referat) und einem Vortrag mit Diskussion zu einem vorgegebenen Thema.

Beide Teilleistungen müssen bestanden sein und gehen zu gleichen Teilen in die Abschlussnote ein. 

Falls der Betreuer zustimmt, können die Leistungen in englischer Sprache erbracht werden. Alle Teilleistungen sind in der gleichen Sprache zu erbringen.

learning outcome

After successfully completing the module, students will be able to understand a defined topic from Business Information Systems Engineering, place it in the context of the literature, present it coherently and critically evaluate it. They have a deeper understanding of scientific work in the field of Business Information Systems Engineering, can classify research problems and apply learned methods and techniques of scientific work to specific tasks. Students are able to analyze, classify and evaluate the current state of the literature, as well as work on open questions according to a system recognized in Business Information Systems Engineering and take an independent position. Successful students have the skills to present the tasks and results they have worked on both in writing and orally to a group and to adhere to the formal and content-related requirements of academic work. After successfully completing the module, students will be able to present and critically discuss the results of their work in a group.

Students have to attend a main seminar from a subject area of the Institute of Business Information Systems Engineering. In each main seminar, selected topics from the field of Business Information Systems Engineering are dealt with. The current range of topics can be found in the moodle courses of the relevant groups. The range of topics is redefined at the beginning of each semester.
