Sporty, colorful, intercultural: That was the UNIversiTY Campusfest 2025

The UNIversiTY Campusfest in June showed just how lively and eventful campus life can be at a university. Instead of lectures and seminars, the program included encounters, movement and cultural exchange - in the best summer weather in the middle of the green campus.

The campus festival was organized by the Division Equality, Diversity, and Health together with the University Sports Center

In the spirit of the FISU World University Games, the event organized by the teams of University Sports Centre and the University Health Management started in the morning with a panel discussion by the International Student Week (ISWI) in the Audimax. Under the motto "Participation through sport", Olympic coach Sven Spannekrebs, breakdance coach and Dr. Antonio De Fano, coach of the Italian 2024 Olympic team, and international guests discussed the role of sport as a bridge between cultures.

Campus in motion: From yoga to rubber boot throwing

Afterwards, the sporty side of things continued: a "Feel Good Yoga Session" on the Ehrenbergwiese invited everyone to take a deep breath. At the same time, on the terrace of the University Sports Center, there were health offers such as vitality screening, mobility checks and lots of tips for more well-being in everyday study and work life.

Things got really active at the 13 "Beat the Boss" competition stations. A dedicated university management team set new records in the rubber boot throwing, tower building and tree trunk nailing competitions, among others, which had to be beaten.

Celebrating together - and dancing!

In the evening, students, staff and ISWI guests came together for the Intercultural Dance Night before dancing the night away in the bc-Club. New contacts, lots of conversations and a strong sense of community - that's what campus life is all about!

A huge thank you goes to everyone who made the UNIversiTY Campusfest possible: Especially to the teams from the University Sports Center, the Division Equality, Diversity and Health, to the Techniker Krankenkasse as a partner and to our many student initiatives - from the hsf Studentenradio e.V. to the Ilmenau Student Club (ILSC) and the Bergfest e.V..
