The more the merrier: this was the motto of a warm, cordial and international Christmas party for all students and staff at TU Ilmenau on December 5, 2025. The celebration, opened by the Vice President for International Relations and Transfer, Prof. Jens Müller, also marked the festive conclusion of the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program (BIP) on the topic of Connecting European Cultures, to which the university welcomed members from seven of the nine partner universities of the European University Alliance SUNRISE.
The TU Ilmenau Christmas Party, sponsored by the International Office, offered a varied stage program with music from the ISWI band "Rolling Bagels", Chinese dance as well as contributions from the K-Pop dance group, the Brazilian Zouk dance group and the belly dance group Oriana. The event thus also reflected the cultural diversity of the university. International delicacies invited guests to exchange ideas before the celebration came to an atmospheric end at the subsequent dance party in the bc club.
With a few impressions of this celebration, we would like to thank all members of the university who helped to organize this evening and many other events this year and filled our campus with life. We would also like to thank all our partners with whom we have been able to work together in a spirit of trust over the past year.
We are particularly pleased that this year, university members and people from Ilmenau are once again helping to prepare a colorful Christmas for international students and employees far away from home by hosting a coffee, a walk or a joint gift-giving event. We would like to thank ISWI e.V. for organizing the event and we4you for supporting it.
We wish everyone a restful time, with the opportunity to recharge, connect with friends and loved ones, and fully enjoy the holiday season. May the coming year bring you much joy and health!
