WiWo ranking: Industrial engineering of the TU Ilmenau among top 10

The Master's programme in Industrial Engineering and Management at the TU Ilmenau has once again been placed among the top 10 in the current university ranking of the magazine WirtschaftsWoche "Germany's best universities".

This means that the university was able to continue its long line of top ratings for this degree programme in the survey conducted by the employer branding consultancy Universum on behalf of WirtschaftsWoche. Over 500 HR managers from companies were asked which universities they prefer to recruit their employees from.

According to the ranking, in addition to the actual course of study, personnel managers place the most value on an applicant's personality in the selection process, followed by the practical relevance of the course of study. The fact that the graduates of the Ilmenau Industrial Engineering and Management degree programme convinced the personnel managers is attributed by the head of the degree programme, Prof. Norbert Bach, to the good study situation at the TU Ilmenau:

We have an excellent supervision ratio at our rather small university. Therefore, unlike at large universities, the Ilmenau students are in very close contact with the lecturers. And with innovative forms of teaching such as case study exercises and project work, we try to support them in preparing for the specialist internship and in developing their own personalities.

The students also benefit from international exchange programmes, targeted specialisation opportunities and, last but not least, the best career prospects.
