Bachelor's Thesis and Colloquium - Interaktive Studienpläne der TU Ilmenau

Through the written thesis, students are equipped to strategically plan a research project, to implement and evaluate it. The specialized knowledge and methodological skills acquired during the Data Science studies can be applied, and the results of the thesis can be documented in writing and critically discussed. The students havev deepened their written communication skills.
Through interactions with their mentors, the students learned to take feedback into account and implement criticism effectively.
Through the colloquium, the students are able to professionally present and explain their own scientific work.

Independent work on a subject-specific topic under supervision and documentation of the project:
•    Development of a research strategy
•    Review of the relevant literature
•    Development of the necessary scientific methods, execution and evaluation, discussion of the results
•    Writing of the Bachelor's thesis.

partial performance 1 (examination number 99001):
Preparation of a written thesis with a weighting of 80%.
In consultation with the supervising university lecturer, the thesis can also be written in German in accordance with PStO-AB §24

partial performance 2 (examination number 99002):
Presentation of 30 minutes + discussion of a maximum of 30 minutes, with a weighting of 20%. The colloquium usually takes place no later than six weeks after the submission of the written scientific paper.
