This module contains at least one alternative exam part. Please note that this must usually be registered at the beginning of the semester in which it is offered. The lecturer and/or the examination office will inform you about the details and time periods. If necessary, be sure to ask the lecturer.

 Registration for the course is done via the Moodle room and your respective examination office.

Students must register for alternative examinations at the examinations office during the examination registration period (approx. at the end of the first month of the semester - information on the registration period is provided by the examinations office).

All other degree programs (except AMW)

Students must register with their own examination offices using the "Registration of examination/study achievements" form. Registration should take place as part of the registration for alternative examinations.

Through the weekly tasks and the weekly test, students are familiar with the gender, age, culture and other characteristics of people and take these into account when dealing with each other (professional and social competence).

Through the weekly tasks and the weekly test, students recognise and reflect on social and personal prejudices (social and personal competence).

Through the homework, students can independently apply their gender and diversity competence to a self-chosen topic/problem from their studies, professional or private life (professional competence).

The term paper enables students to write scientific papers better (subject competence)

The Gender Diversity Basic Course is part of the study context of the BA studies program Angewandte Medien- und Kommunikationswissenschaft (Applied Media and Communication Studies), Angewandte Medien- und Kommunikationswissenaschaft - International Program (Applied Media and Communication Studies - International Program), Studium generale and the Gender Diversity certificate. It is a purely online course and provides the following content

1. definitional basics of the concepts gender and diversity
2. the importance of gender and diversity in private life (identity and sexuality, couple relationships and family, health, sport)
3. the importance of gender and diversity in professional life and in the public sphere (schools and universities, professional world, technical world, media world)
4. fields of theory and research (historical and intercultural perspectives, gender theory and gender research, diversity theory and diversity research)

This module will be taught online. It can be studied entirely digital. It is therefore suitable for students enrolled in the BA studies program Angewandte Medien- und Kommunikationswissenschaft (Applied Media and Communication Studies), Angewandte Medien- und Kommunikationswissenschaft - International Program (Applied Media and Communication Studies - International Program), Studium generale and the Gender Diversity certificate.
