Since 2012, Professor Puta has been a guest lecturer at the Thai Nguyen University of Technology (TNUT), the largest of the seven universities belonging to the TNU, for about five months each year and holds three lectures in the electrical engineering course. In his laudation, the rector of TNUT, Professor Nguyen Duy Cuong, particularly emphasized Prof. Puta's professional and personal recognition among students and faculty. He said the partners had worked closely together to introduce a weekly "research seminar", which has now become established in three technical faculties. "Prof Puta's constructive contributions and recommendations have been instrumental in the good quality of these seminars," Prof Cuong said.

Merits for international visibility

Apart from his commitment to teaching, the Rector of the partner university also acknowledged Prof Horst Puta's contribution to TNUT's international visibility. "His involvement in acquisition visits to other universities and companies, especially in the north of Vietnam and to Laos, has led to more master's students and valuable research projects, but equally to increased acceptance of our university." With his activities on the editorial board, Prof. Puta also played a major role in the development of TNUT's annual national scientific conference into an international conference sponsored by Springer Nature, he said.

The good cooperative relations with the TU Ilmenau are also due in particular to Prof. Puta and the LEONARDO office, today's EU-Praktikum THURINGIA at the TU Ilmenau. As part of a grant in the European ERASMUS+ programme, lecturers and students from both universities were able to teach and gain experience at the partner for the first time from 2017 to 2019. The implementation of the project was acknowledged as exemplary at a DAAD conference in autumn 2019. The partners want to use the further funding until July 2022 to continue and sustainably promote the cooperation.
