Volume: total of ca. 40h, duration 1–2 months
The goal of this task is to deploy the RIOT operating systems for energy-efficient embedded devices on a Micro Bit v2 board. It will involve a thorough study of comprehensive documentation of both hardware and software.
Key results:
- establishment of a deployment process, which allows to flash the boards with the RIOT kernel and any custom programs written both in C or Rust
- replication of the required hardware/software setup for at least 10 boards, such that it is sufficiently efficient and robust for teaching purposes (physically in our lab)
- thorough documentation of the above
Required qualifications:
- basic understanding of embedded systems
- ability and willingness to learn required background knowlege of RIOT and the Micro Bit hardware
- reliable, careful and punctual working style
