Following the launch, all residents of Ilmenau are encouraged to participate under the hashtag #wirsindilmenau and contribute to bringing the campaign to life.
Targeted at everyone in the region, the "We are Ilmenau" campaign seeks to address the growing societal fragmentation by reaffirming the community's values and highlighting what makes Ilmenau and its districts an appealing place to live for all inhabitants.
The campaign will kick off with a family-friendly event on May 17 at 4 p.m. at Wetzlarer Platz in Ilmenau, featuring welcoming remarks from city, district, and university representatives, followed by a panel discussion and various activities for attendees of all ages.
Posters featuring residents who embrace Ilmenau's diversity will be showcased throughout the city and university campus, showcasing the shared sense of belonging among individuals, regardless of their origins. Following the launch event, residents are encouraged to contribute their ideas and stories using #wirsindilmenau, thus enriching the collective narrative of "We are Ilmenau."
Petra Enders, the district administrator, emphasizes the numerous advantages of living and working in Ilmenau, citing its family-friendly environment, economic connectivity, and community spirit as key strengths, especially during challenging times.
