Many students ignore the possibilities of a scholarship because they believe that their performance is not good enough or they are simply afraid of a complicated selection process even though they have all the requirements. So that such and other possible obstacles do not prevent you from applying and missing out on the chance to finance your studies with the help of the Deutschlandstipendium, important questions about the application and selection procedure are answered below.

The application takes place once a year in second / third quarter, the scholarships are awarded on 1 October of the current year. Please find the announcement here.

Applications can be submitted online via the application portal Mobility within the application period stated in the announcement.

Only applications that have been submitted in full will be considered. All applications that are not submitted on time or in the correct form will not be considered in the selection process. There is no legal entitlement to a Germany Scholarship!

The selection of the scholarships by the Awards Committee takes place in October.

The formal awarding of the scholarships takes place in November.

Scholarship holders are expected to participate in scholarship events and to get involved in other university events.

Scholarship holders who change to the Master 'sprogramme in the summer semester submit a new application via the application portal Mobility Online within the announced application period (see § 8 Para. 4 of the funding guidelines of the TU Ilmenau for the awarding of German scholarships at the TU Ilmenau).
