The University Library in the Leibniz Building has a total of 61 user computers on three floors. (see also INFO 2 - General terms of use : 4. Use of the computer workstations).
The user computers are switched on by pressing a key or clicking the mouse. Then you have to log in as a university member or as a guest. You then have a Windows desktop with a web browser at your disposal. University members still have access to their home directory and Office programmes. It is possible to use USB sticks.
It is possible to print from all of the above applications. You must be logged in with the university login. However, with the guest login it is possible to save files to a USB stick. In order to save something to a USB stick, it must always be connected before calling up the application. If this is forgotten, the application must be closed, the USB stick connected and the application restarted.
At the workstations with computers, there is a USB socket on the connector strip to which the USB stick can be connected.
This has no function at the desks without computers.
The network sockets in the desks are currently not wired. At the desks with computers, they will not have any function in the future either. At the tables without computers, the network sockets are configured as public network sockets so that the user's own laptop can be connected there. You will find information on public network sockets further down on this website.
