During the PATINFO2015, the German-speaking Patent Information User Group was established. PATON also accompanied the process of establishing the association by providing an information platform during the years (2015-2022).
Since 2022, PING has been registered as a non-profit association and is the official representative of the interests of German-speaking patent information users within CEPIUG (Confederacy of European Patent Information User Groups) and vis-à-vis patent information providers such as the DPMA, EPO and WIPO.
Regular meetings of the group take place at PATINFO.
