In a series of webinars, the European Audiovisual Observatory (EAO) brought together academic experts, industry representatives, and relevant stakeholders to discuss the implications of the proposed new regulatory package in the EU: the Digital Service Act Package. The events took place in Spring and now the EAO presents the collected volume documenting the intensive and fruitbul discussions: Unravelling the Digital Services Act Package (edited by Maja Cappello; Strasbourg 2021).
Among the invited academic experts was Oliver Budzinski, Professor of Economic Theory at Ilmenau University of Technology, who contributes the chapter Gatekeeping in the Audiovisual Sector: Economic Background, Competition, and Regulation (pp. 94-109) to the volume, which will also see publication in German and French in the near future.
