As universities in Thuringia, we want to set out together this year, which is why the focus of the 2nd symposium of the Thuringian joint project "Klima-N - Network for more sustainability at universities in Thuringia" is "Sustainability at universities in Thuringia - On the way to a strong university network".
It will take place on January 16, 2025 from 13:00 to 17:30 at the Green Campus (Lz.4.E.01) of the Erfurt University of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Landscape Architecture, Horticulture and Forestry, Leipziger Straße 77, 99085 Erfurt.
In general, the drive for sustainability is increasing across all sectors. Universities in particular, which should analyze, publish, and promote the latest scientific findings on these socially relevant topics, are for the most part still in the early stages of development. Moreover, on closer inspection, the broad field of sustainability requires expert knowledge from a wide range of specialist areas, as it usually involves complex problems that are difficult to solve (wicked problems & wicked science). Sustainability solutions therefore require in-depth approaches, scientific foundations and detailed considerations in order to develop truly holistic solution strategies. For this reason, it is important to work together in the Thuringian university network and lay the foundations for a sustainable future.
