From 19 to 21 November 2026, the Economic Theory Group at Technische Universität Ilmenau will host the 64th Hohenheim Advanced Seminar. The Hohenheim Advanced Seminar (HOS) is a long-established academic conference in the field of economics, held twice a year at different university locations. The typical topics covered at the HOS reflect current theoretical and empirical issues in modern economics. There is a strong focus on the analysis of digital markets and platforms, the regulation of infrastructure such as telecommunications and electricity, classical competition policy at both the German and international levels, and the economic analysis of law.

A particular aim of the event is to promote early-career researchers: early-career researchers are given the opportunity to present their own research, discuss it in depth with experienced researchers, and gain valuable insights for its further development. The intensive discussion format is a defining feature of the event. The research papers submitted are not presented in the traditional manner during the seminar. Instead, the focus is on a detailed co-presentation and a joint plenary discussion. In this way, the Hohenheim Advanced Seminar offers early-career researchers in particular a constructive environment for in-depth feedback, academic exchange and the development of academic networks.
