Class of '72 Reunion – Golden Diploma

Fifty years have passed since the members of the Class of ’72 graduated from what was then the Technischen Hochschule, now the Technische Universität Ilmenau. To mark this occasion, the TU Ilmenau will be celebrating its Golden Jubilee – 50 years since the graduation of its first cohort – with a large alumni reunion on 22 and 23 September 2026. 

The program begins on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, at 6.00 pm with a social evening. On Wednesday 23 September 2026, the official ceremony will take place from 9.00 am in the Helmholtz Lecture, where the ‘Golden Diplomas’ will be presented by the President of TU Ilmenau, Prof. Kai-Uwe Sattler. This will be followed by campus tours starting at 1.45 pm. The anniversary celebrations will conclude with a festive evening event.
