Matriculation Ceremony 2025

With joy and pride, the Technische Universität Ilmenau cordially invites all new students to the official Matriculation Ceremony – the official start of their studies and the symbolic entry into the academic community of our university.

The Matriculation Ceremony on October 11, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM in the Audimax of the Humboldtbau, marks the significant transition into academic life and is the first festive highlight of your time at university. The university leadership, representatives of the City of Ilmenau, and the student body will warmly welcome our new students and their families. The event will not only feature inspiring speeches to mark the beginning of your studies but also cultural highlights and the first glimpses into the exciting new chapter at TU Ilmenau.

Immediately following the ceremony, we also warmly invite families and friends to explore our campus. Guided tours across the campus, through lecture halls and laboratories, will introduce the places that will soon shape the academic life of the new students and broaden their research horizons. This is the perfect opportunity for family and friends to get an initial impression of our university’s learning and living environment.
