Workshop Fit for Study

Dear Students,

Studying in a foreign country comes with its challenges. However, if you know what to do and especially how to do it, the whole process becomes easier.
Therefore, the goal of this workshop is to prepare international students with or without a refugee background for their studies here in Germany and specifically at TU Ilmenau.
The two-days workshop is designed to introduce you to the German education system in general while equipping you with the necessary soft skills.
You will learn the following on both days of the workshop:

• Overview of German higher education in general and higher education at TU-Ilmenau in particular.
• Writing scientific papers and projects (main topics)
• Intercultural sensitization and training by teaching theoretical contents and direct transfer into everyday life through practical exercises
• Imparting of content-related, subject-specific TU-Ilmenau university information by present professors (Q&A session)
• Presentation training
• Phonetics training (knowledge transfer and direct application)
• Self-organization at the university (familiarization with the use of Moodle, Webex, Thoska card, etc.)
• Dealing with lecturers and professors
• Networking

This workshop is to take place in the presence form. This means that the 3G Corona regulation must be strictly followed. Presentation of a vaccination card, recovery certificate, or negative COVID test result is required for participation.
