TU Ilmenau/ari19–23 October – "Schnupperstudientage" at Technische Universität Ilmenau. During the Thuringian autumn holidays, upper-sixth-form pupils can get a taste of university life, explore the laboratories and experience Ilmenau’s campus community. They will receive information on all the university’s degree programs, tips for university life and personalized advice on any questions they may have. They will also have the opportunity to sit in on ‘real’ first-year lectures and put their practical skills to the test.
Programs and registration (until 7 October): www.tu-ilmenau.de/schnuppern
Which degree program suits me best? How can I organize myself to study successfully? How can I help shape a sustainable future whilst I’m still studying? How can I fund my studies? During the Thuringian autumn holidays and shortly after the start of the winter semester at the TU Ilmenau, interested upper-sixth-form pupils will find answers to all their questions. Staff from the Student Advisory Service and current students will be on hand to answer questions during lectures and practical sessions. Anyone wishing for a more personalized approach can arrange individual counselling appointments and laboratory tours when they register.Parents are also very welcome to accompany their children as they explore study options at TU Ilmenau and to take part in counselling sessions together. Please let us know if this applies when you register.
For a whole week, pupils can feel just like ‘real’ students and experience the vibrant campus life first-hand. Information is available on all the university’s degree programmes: from engineering and computer science, through mathematics and natural sciences, to economics, media and communication. Through geocaching or campus tours led by students, pupils can explore the university grounds either on their own or in a group. There is also a guided tour of the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology.
During the second week of the taster days, from 2 to 6 November, school pupils will be offered the same comprehensive range of orientation activities. In both weeks, depending on their interests, time and journey, pupils can take part on all days or just on individual days or at specific events.
