TU IlmenauOn 24 October, ‘Libraries Day’ will be taking place across Germany, and the Ilmenau University Library is also inviting you to join in! It is not just on Library Day that Thuringia’s largest technical library is open to all members of the public, offering them access to academic information – via printed and digital media and through courses on how to use academic literature and artificial intelligence. On Library Day, anyone interested can explore what the University Library has to offer throughout its opening hours from 9 am to 5 pm and learn interesting facts about the use of AI in an escape game. Participation is free of charge.
This is where knowledge comes to life: on the nationwide Library Day on 24 October, from 9 am to 5 pm, the Ilmenau University Library invites you to discover all its services, including registration, borrowing and advice. Between 10 am and 4 pm, anyone interested can explore the rooms along the ‘Guided-by-books’ route at their own pace and discover interesting facts about the University Library’s special collections. At 11 am and 3 pm, there will be the opportunity to be guided through the library by a University Library expert. Anyone taking part in the ‘Unlocking UB – AI Edition’ escape game at 1.30 pm will learn about the advantages and disadvantages of AI and how to apply it in practice to find information or develop solutions for programming tasks. The escape game lasts one hour and is aimed at anyone aged 14 and over with an interest in AI; registration is requested: auskunft.ub@tu-ilmenau.de.
