Successful doctorate: Dr. Ngoc Son Le receives certificate from the Faculty for Economics and Media

The Faculty of Business, Economics and Media and the Institute of Media and Communication Science are delighted to announce the successful doctorate of Dr. Ngoc Son Le.

After the dissertation was published, Dr. Le officially received his doctoral certificate. The dissertation, "The Governance of Disaster Communication in Different Sociopolitical Structures: A Cross-National Study of ASEAN Member States, the Philippines, and Vietnam in Reducing the Impact of Typhoons," examines disaster communication in different socio-political structures. It compares the strategies used in the Philippines and Vietnam to deal with typhoons.

Dr. Le was supervised by Professor Martin Löffelholz and Dr. habil. Andreas Schwarz. Professor Audra Diers-Lawson, a well-known researcher of crisis communication from the Kristiana University of Applied Sciences in Norway, served on the doctoral committee as an external reviewer.

Dr. Le was successful not only in his academic work, but also as an entrepreneur. During his doctorate, he founded several companies in Germany and Vietnam. One of these companies was the first crisis communication consultancy in Vietnam. It made an important contribution to the professionalization of the industry.
