Dr. phil. habil. Aynur Sarısakaloğlu completed a teaching and research stay at the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication (JMG) at the University of Gothenburg as part of the Erasmus+ funding program. Prof. Dr. Bengt Johansson from the JMG Department supported the academic exchange with great engagement and played a crucial role in making the visit highly enriching.

During her stay, Sarısakaloğlu had the opportunity to gain insights into JMG’s teaching and research environment. She delivered presentations, such as a lecture in the Master’s program on the algorithmic transformation of journalism and its impact on newswork and journalism research. She also presented her ongoing research at the department’s internal research seminar. The presentations attracted considerable interest and led to engaging discussions with students and colleagues. This was possible thanks to the excellent arrangement by Dr. Jenny Wiik and Dr. Isabella Glogger.

In addition, conversations with members of the JMG Department provided further opportunities for academic exchange. These discussions deepened the understanding of different research approaches and offered valuable impulses for the advancement of her own scholarly work.

The Erasmus+ funding program thus enabled a highly productive and inspiring stay. Sarısakaloğlu returns with an expanded professional network and new project ideas.
