This year’s Symposium on Experimental Fluid Mechanics at the Technische Universität Hamburg, organised by Michael Schlüter and his team at the Institut für Mehrphasenströmungen – TUHH, felt like a gathering of friends sharing the same enthusiasm for developing and applying experimental methods for fluid mechanics research.

Technische Thermodynamik – a Group at the Technical University of Ilmenau – was represented by five presentations from Christian Resagk, MITANJALI, Siddharood Biradar, Jörg König and Christian Cierpka, showcasing a wide variety of research, ranging from dancing catkins to thermal energy storage systems using thermochromic liquid crystals, double refraction microscopy and event-based particle tracking.
