From 28 July 28 to 01 August 2025, a delegation from TU Ilmenau participated in the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) General Meeting in Austin, Texas. The General Meeting is the largest conference of the IEEE PES and thus a place for intensive technical exchange.
Against the impressive backdrop of Austin, the five days offered our colleagues a great opportunity to exchange ideas with international experts and establish new networks.
Our group contributed two presentations to the PES General Meeting:
Carsten Gatermann: presentation on the use of thermal reserves of HVDC cables as part of the Special Session on HVDC in Europe led by Prof. Dirk Westermann and Dr.-Ing. Anne-Katrin Marten
Nadja Belz: Presentation on the evaluation of the use and added value of highly automated assistance systems in control centers as part of the session from the Kopernikus research project ENSURE
