On 12 December 2025, the annual winter workshop of the Power Systems Group at TU Ilmenau, co-organized by the IEEE Student Branch Ilmenau, took place. The workshop is a great opportunity for us to discuss current topics with our students, employees and alumni.
This year, the workshop was organized with three contributions:

Jannes Grünberg on current challenges and approaches to solving the energy transition from the perspective of a distribution grid operator
Dr.-Ing. Michael Agsten with an overview of current trends in the use of AI in system operation
