The summer concert begins with the Symphony in G major by Christoph Willibald Gluck, one of the most important composers of the second half of the 18th century. Under the direction of Sophie Hofsommer, the academic orchestra of the TU Ilmenau will then play the orchestral suite in G major, known as "Water Music", by George Frideric Handel. This is followed by the Rondo in C by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the concert piece for violin with accompaniment, both works with soloist Maasa Morimoto on the violin. After the interval, German Dances by Franz Schubert, Romanian Dances by Béla Bartók and Hungarian Dances by Johannes Brahms will follow.
