Practical experiments on computer science and cybernetics are on the program in the student workshop

On Saturday, June 18, the Computer Science Student Workshop will be held at Technische Universität Ilmenau. Pupils in grades 8 to 13 will conduct experiments in practical workshops on current topics in computer science and cybernetics, the science of controlling and regulating machines. The participants come from all over Germany. Their parents are also catered for with a supporting program. Information and registration: www.tu-ilmenau.de/schuelerworkshop/

Computer science is present in many areas today: clearly visible in computer games, web applications and search engines or deeply embedded in vehicles or medical technology devices. At the student workshop on computer science on June 18, high school students will discover the world of computer science starting at 9 a.m. in workshops on autonomous driving, data science or even the forwarding of packets on the Internet. They will gain deep insights into the activities of computer scientists, engineering computer scientists and cyberneticists. In discussions with scientists and students, the pupils learn first-hand about the study programs in computer science, engineering computer science and cybernetics.

For accompanying parents, the parents' café is open for the entire duration of the student workshop on computer science, where they can talk to people about studying and living in Ilmenau.
