From 12 to 13 March 2026, the third edition of the LENA 1 Seminar brought together former PhD candidates and colleagues of Prof. Styczynski and current PhD candidates in Warnemünde to exchange ideas on challenges and research areas in power systems engineering.
The seminar, organized by Michael Kranhold from 50Hertz, created a unique environment for inspiring discussions and reconnecting across institutions. Participants from TU Ilmenau (Prof. Dirk Westermann), and other universities shared insights on topics such as charging infrastructure, power system stability and operation, assistance systems, and asset management.
A special highlight of the program was the guided visit to the offshore facilities of 50Hertz, offering first-hand insights into the practical challenges of offshore grid operation, maintenance, and the ongoing expansion of renewable energy infrastructure.
We sincerely thank our colleagues at 50Hertz for the excellent organization, the warm hospitality, and the opportunity to experience the energy transition up close. We look forward to continuing this inspiring exchange in the years to come.
