Max Schindler from the CCS department wins the PolKomm Kickstarter Fund 2025
The Kickstarter Fund announced by the DGPuK Communication & Politics specialist group goes to Ilmenau. The jury, consisting of Lara Kobilke and Pamina Syed Ali, spokespersons for the NapoKo young talent network, and the specialist group spokespersons Anne Schulz and Philipp Müller, awarded Max Schindler for his project "Narrative patterns in party newsletters: An analysis of claims, actors and events in German parties".
In his project, he will use large language models (LLMs) to analyze the content of German party communication via email newsletters. The submission is convincing due to its focus on party e-mails as an innovative research subject that has so far received little attention in political communication research, as well as the application of state-of-the-art content analysis research methods. The award winner will use the prize money of 750 euros to use current LLMs for analysis purposes.
