In his lecture as part of the TU Ilmenau Bürgercampus, Sebastian Hübner will give an insight into the industrial use of nuclear fission. Hübner, who studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Dresden and was subsequently a research assistant at the Chair of Hydrogen and Nuclear Energy Technology, explains the physical and technical principles of nuclear technology. The graduate engineer presents established and modern reactor concepts and reflects on their risks and opportunities.
With his lecture, Sebastian Hübner aims to impart fact-based knowledge about the processes in nuclear fission reactors and thus enable the audience to participate competently in discussions on the topic. Sebastian Hübner is currently a consultant to the Vice President for Studies and Teaching at TU Ilmenau and deputy contact person for the Ilmenau regional group of Engineers Without Borders.
