October 28: TU Ilmenau awards 42 Germany Scholarships

The TU Ilmenau is awarding Germany Scholarships to 42 students in the 2025/26 academic year. The scholarships will be presented to the scholarship holders in person by the sponsors on October 28 at 4 p.m. in the Audimax of the TU Ilmenau. Representatives of the media are cordially invited to the event.

In the federal program, students whose careers promise outstanding achievements in their studies and careers are supported for one year with a Germany Scholarship of 300 euros per month. Half of the funding comes from voluntary sponsors - companies, foundations, associations and private individuals - and the other half from the federal government. This year, 19 sponsors are making it possible to award scholarships to 42 students.TU Ilmenau has been involved in the federal program since its inception in 2011. A total of 682 Germany Scholarships have been awarded over the past 14 years.

In order to receive a Germany Scholarship, students apply with proof of academic achievement, but any voluntary work or special achievements and awards are also taken into account when awarding the scholarship. Those who come from a non-academic household or work alongside their studies also have a better chance of receiving a Germany Scholarship. The selection is made by the TU Ilmenau Study Committee on the basis of anonymized data.
