Open lab day at Institute of Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics!

Last Saturday we opened the lab to the public to present the large water tunnel from FG TTD at TU Ilmenau. This tunnel is used for research and teaching. We presented our event-based cameras to measure the flow around hydrofoils and visualise bubbles as can be seen in the video. This technique will also be applied for our innovative teaching project where engineers and mathematicians work together to model complex systems (Christian Cierpka & Jan Heiland | Stifterverband). We were impressed by the great interest of young people in engineering in general and our specific research!
