Johanna MayUnder the title "Real_Unreal", pupils from Ilmenau's Gymnasium am Lindenberg are exhibiting their works in the style of surrealism in the university library of TU Ilmenau. The works in acrylic, which revolve around the theme of "Europe - but safe", were produced in the courses of classes 11b and 12 art at the advanced level. The exhibition is open from Monday to Saturday until July 11 and admission is free. Halfway through the exhibition period, other work results from the class 11 course will also be shown at the midi opening on June 13.
The works of the Ilmenau senior school pupils were created as part of the 72nd nationwide European competition, in which more than 74,000 pupils from all over Germany and German schools abroad developed visions of how the annual motto "Europe? But safe!" in artistic works. The pupils dealt with the topics of resource scarcity, fake news and social security. A special task for all age groups focused on their own contribution to peace and reconciliation. Some of the prize-winning works from the European competition will also be on display in the university library at TU Ilmenau.
