From February 7 to 10, 2022, the TU Ilmenau invites high school students to the #WissenschaftErklärt (ScienceExplained) theme days - a new offer of the university for study orientation. In up to four practical live lectures per day on exciting future topics, prospective students will learn about the interesting, future-oriented degree programmes available at TU Ilmenau. The theme days take place online, and young people can also follow some of the lectures on site at TU Ilmenau.
What do autonomous driving and mathematics have to do with each other? What influence do media have on human thinking? What will the materials of the future look like? Answers to these and other questions from today's world can be found from February 7 to 10 at the #WissenschaftErklärt theme days. The lectures, which are tailored to young people between the ages of 16 and 19, address current topics of the future: innovative wireless technologies, bio-inspired technology, sustainable economic models, media and opinion formation, high-precision engineering and the latest technologies for a stable energy supply. The students learn how closely studies at the TU Ilmenau are intertwined with research on these red-hot social topics. They themselves could be involved in specific research projects and thus change the world by studying at TU Ilmenau.
All lectures will be broadcast online and participants will be able to ask questions directly via chat - about the topics covered and also about the corresponding study programmes at TU Ilmenau. Students can also attend individual lectures on site, with prior registration - the 2G+ rule applies: vaccinated or recovered plus negative rapid test.
