Under the motto "Beflügelt - International young master pianists in concert", this year's two scholarship holders of the Elfrun Gabriel Foundation will give a varied piano recital on Friday, October 24, in the Auditorium maximum of the TU Ilmenau. Samuel Choi and Jiyoung Kim will perform works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Ludwig van Beethoven, Frédéric Chopin and Sergei Prokofiev as part of the "Music in the Audimax" series. Tickets are available at the box office for 10 euros and for pupils and students for 5 euros. Tickets go on sale at 5 pm and the concert starts at 6 pm.

The Elfrun Gabriel Foundation, founded in 2012 in memory of the former, internationally renowned pianist, supports outstanding young pianists. Every year, a jury selects two musicians from among the best piano students at the Leipzig University of Music and Performing Arts "Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy" and supports them with an annual scholarship, which helps them at the start of their career in a variety of ways, including participation in international competitions and performance opportunities, traditionally also at TU Ilmenau. This year, two music students, Samuel Choi and Jiyoung Kim, received the coveted scholarship.
