Two open house days: Discover TU Ilmenau together with freshmen

Vier Studierende sitzen zusammen draußen auf dem CampusTU Ilmenau/ari

Taster study days at TU Ilmenau: from 6 to 10 October, high school students will receive information on all degree courses, general advice on studying and individual advice - at the same time as first-year students during "Ersti-Woche". And from November 3 to 7, prospective students also have the opportunity to attend regular lectures. Registration for the first week is possible until September 28, for the second week until October 20. Program: www.tu-ilmenau.de/schnuppern

Get a taste of the lecture hall, explore laboratories and experience Ilmenau's campus community - this is what high school students can do during the trial study days in the Thuringian fall vacations from October 6 to 10, which take place at the same time as the legendary "Ersti-Woche" at the TU Ilmenau. When the introductory week for new students starts on October 6, prospective students can also spend a week exploring the university campus and Ilmenau and immersing themselves in campus life at the university. They will receive information on all degree courses, general tips for studying and individual advice. During the second taster study days from November 3 to 7, pupils can also attend "real" lectures - and feel a bit like "first-timers" themselves.

Which degree course suits me best? How do I organize myself in order to study successfully? How can I finance my studies? And how can I help shape a successful professional future during my studies? At both Taster Study Days at TU Ilmenau, there will be informative lectures and individual advice, and in a Study Info Lounge, staff from the Student Advisory Service and students will be on hand to answer any questions prospective students may have about the degree courses and the university's various subject areas: from engineering and computer science to mathematics and natural sciences, economics, media and communication.

In addition to the general program items, pupils can also book personal consultation appointments and laboratory tours when they register and thus put together their own individual taster study plan. In addition to the student advisory service, members of the 80 clubs and initiatives at the university provide information about their activities and the numerous opportunities to get involved outside of their studies according to their personal interests: sporting, cultural or professional.

The winter semester has already begun at the TU Ilmenau in the second week of the Taster Study Days from November 3 to 7. Pupils in the upper secondary school who have applied for a leave of absence from their school in advance can now attend regular lectures in addition to the advisory services and campus tours. Depending on interest, time and travel time, it is of course possible to attend only individual days or individual events during both taster study weeks.
