TU Ilmenau
On May 9 and 10, TU Ilmenau welcomed guests from its long-standing partner university in Qingdao, China.
Prof. Dr. Zhichao Qu (Director), Prof. Xuehai Yue (Dean) and Prof. Dr. Hongying Zhao (Vice Dean) from the Sino-German Technological Faculty at Qingdao University of Science and Technology (QUST) as well as Mr. Bing Chen, Director of the International Exchange & Cooperation Office at QUST, experienced a varied program at TU Ilmenau. The program included:
a meeting with Prof. Dr. Thomas Fröhlich, Institute of Process Measurement and Sensor Technology, Department of Mechanical Engineering - as coordinator of the partnership.
an exchange on the expansion of cooperation relations with Prof. Dr. Anja Geigenmüller, Vice President for Teaching and Learning, and Dr. Diana Moehrke-Rasul, Deputy Head, International Office.
a reception by Dean Prof. Dr. Thomas Sattel and Dean of Studies Prof. Dr. Stephan Husung, Department of Mechanical Engineering, to discuss past and future cooperation - together with German teacher Ms. Franziska Klung and Coordinator for Master's Admissions Ms. Silke Stauche.
a discussion with students from Qingdao.
A special highlight of the visit was the presentation of the sponsorship awards from the "Association for the Promotion of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Precision Engineering at Technische Universität Ilmenau" to
Mr. WANG Haoze for his master thesis
"Investigation of the transferability of design principles to the rotor blade assembly of wind turbines"
and
Mr. WANG Jiekai for his master's thesis
"Miniaturization of a quasi-uniaxial differential confocal microscope for stable optical profilometry"
and for seven other excellent theses.
Mr. WANG Haoze and Mr. WANG Jiekai are originally from Qingdao and came to Ilmenau two years ago as part of the exchange program for their mechanical engineering master's degree.
The cooperation partners look back on more than a decade of student and lecturer exchanges.
