"From invention to patent" - in a one-day workshop at the PATON State Patent Center Thuringia, anyone interested can find out how to protect their invention. Specialists from the German Patent and Trade Mark Office will give participants an overview of industrial property rights, inform them about a patent database, give them instructions on how patent specifications should be structured and guide them through the patent procedure. The workshop will take place on October 29 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm at the IHK Südthüringen in Suhl, participation is free of charge.

The PATON State Patent Center Thuringia, located at the Technical University of Ilmenau, together with the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Southern Thuringia and the German Patent and Trademark Office, invites you to the workshop "From Invention to Patent" on October 29.
In the morning, two patent examiners from the German Patent and Trade Mark Office will give participants an overview of industrial property rights, explain the requirements for patenting inventions and provide an insight into the structure of patent specifications. In the afternoon, they will explain the procedure for patent proceedings before the German Patent and Trade Mark Office and how patent claims are adapted during the examination procedure, provide an introduction to the DEPATISnet patent database and explain how electronic files can be inspected. Finally, the participants will discuss examples from patent examination practice. The workshop also offers the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office.
