At this year's IEEE International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality (ISMAR), Kathrin Knutzen presented the poster paper entitled Exploring Augmented Reality Privacy Icons for Smart Home Devices and their Effect on Users' Privacy Awareness.
The paper, published by her, Florian Weidner, and Wolfgang Broll, was developed as part of a media project and presents a prototype AR application that spatially represents privacy icons for smart home devices. A qualitative study examines its effect on users' awareness of data protection and privacy.
ISMAR is the leading conference for developments and research in virtual, augmented and mixed reality. It was held from 04 to 08 October 2021 in Bari, Italy. Due to the current pandemic situation, it was held virtually.
