Solid Particle Counting System (CPC) + Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer (SMPS) Enlargement of the surface area of the particles by heterogeneous condensation (the particles are passed through a supersaturated alcohol vapor/n-butanol) - Optical detection possible. The trajectory (point of impact on a ring electrode) depends on the electrical mobility of the particles and is a measure of their aerodynamic diameter.
