Zur Person
Univ.-Prof. Dr. Simon Oertel hat an der Fachhochschule Trier und der Universität Erfurt Betriebswirtschaftslehre und Staatswissenschaften studiert. Nach Abschluss des Studiums war er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Lehrstuhl für ABWL/Organisation, Führung und Human Resource Management (Prof. Dr. Peter Walgenbach) an der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena (2008-2018) und am Fachgebiet Unternehmensführung/Organisation (Prof. Dr. Norbert Bach) an der TU Ilmenau (2019-2021) tätig. Nach seiner Promotion und während der daran anschließenden Habilitationsphase an der Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena folgten Forschungsaufenthalte an der WU Wien und der Stanford University.
Seit Oktober 2021 leitet Prof. Oertel die Facheinheit Strategisches Management und Organisation (SMO) an der Paris Lodron Universität Salzburg. Daneben hat Prof. Oertel eine Zweitgliedschaft an der Fakultät für Wirtschaftswissenschaften und Medien der TU Ilmenau und leitet gemeinsam mit Prof. Bach das BMBF-Verbundprojekt InnoFARM.
Simon Oertel ist Mitglied des Verbandes der Hochschullehrer für Betriebswirtschaftslehre e.V. (VHB), der European Group for Organizational Studies (EGOS), der Academy of Management (AoM), der American Sociological Association (ASA) und des internationalen Netzwerks New Institutionalism.
