Would you like to know what has been happening at TU Ilmenau in terms of sustainability and which initiatives on our campus and in the city are dealing with sustainability issues? And would you like to participate in the transformation process of our university towards a sustainable community?

Then join us for the 2nd Sustainability Days of TU Ilmenau on November 29 and 30, 2023 on campus!

The Sustainability Days are organized by the Sustainability Working Group in the Sports, Environment and Health Department of the University's Student Council (StuRa) in cooperation with Studierendenwerk Thüringen. In keeping with this, the Mensa will offer vegetarian and vegan dishes only on both days.

 

Preliminary program:

Wednesday, November 29:

11:00 to 14:00 Mensa Ehrenberg Foyer

  • Information stands on sustainability initiatives at TU Ilmenau (in German and English)The Mensa working group for sustainable and healthy nutrition and other student initiatives and associations related to sustainability as well as stores in the city of Ilmenau that deal with sustainability and fair trade will be presenting themselves.
     
  • Give and Take Fashion:
  1. Giveyour no longer used clothes, bags or shoes to the collecting point at EAZ foyer on 27-28th November 12:00-13:30. Important: make sure they are clean and still proper to use
  2. Take some new-second hand clothes during the “Sustainability Days”  in Mensa Foyer on the 29-30th November from 11:00-14:00
     

15:00 to 16:00 bc-Café

  • English Discussion round with international students and social entrepreneur and EU Climate Pact ambassador Holger Holland

     

17:00 to 18:30 Audimax

  • Panel discussion on the topic of "Post-growth economy"including an input lecture "Why a post-growth economy?" by computer scientist and author Klaus Simon, who is committed to the vision of a solidary, welfare-oriented and life-serving society
 

Thursday, November 30:

About the Sustainability Working Group

Raising awareness of sustainability among university members - this is the goal of the StuRa's Sustainability Working Group (AG), which was founded in May 2023. The aim is to encourage people to critically question their actions through a variety of campaigns and projects.
