Green electronics - What does environmentally friendly and secure IT of the future look like?

The digital revolution and the increasingly widespread use of artificial intelligence are changing our society, technologies and science in unprecedented ways. However, a development with an ever-increasing energy demand, which contributes significantly to current CO2 emissions and is thus increasingly becoming the limiting factor of the digital revolution. Current technologies have difficulty solving this problem and new innovative technologies are needed to adequately respond to the changing demands. In this context, neuromorphic electronics are a promising approach in which biological learning and memory processes are electronically emulated. In the lecture, the energy consumption of today's information technologies will be highlighted and neuromorphic electronics will be presented. Furthermore, it will be shown how an environmentally friendly and secure IT of the future could look like.
